Should my Micra be fixed under warranty?

Should my Micra be fixed under warranty?

I have a 181 nissan micra that I bought from a Nissan dealership on the 8/06/2022. I brought to garage for a service and I have gotten a list of repairs that needs to be done adding to nearly 2000€. I am a student only 19 years of age i spent a lot of money on getting a good car that I taught would have minimal problems but now there is many problems with the car. It has ended up that the car was never serviced before it was given to me and I was told when I bought it with 2 witnesses that it was. The 2 back tyres dated back to 2018 they were cracked and when asked about it I was told the tyre depth was ok that it didn’t need nee tyres. I now have to get a rocker cover replaced costing me 700€ and nothing seems to be covered on my warranty that I paid and extra 2000€ for. I had to get the catalytic converter and shocks replaced in the first 6 months of having it. I was just wondering is 700€ a fair price for this rocker cover replacement or is it anyway covered under warranty

Our answer:

Hi Alisha,

It sounds like you've been unlucky - sorry to hear that. It's not clear from your message why exactly the rocker cover requires replacing - that's not very common. If it has cracked or broken of its own accord I would think that it should be covered under warranty, but you'll need to consult with the warranty paperwork and small print on that. Warranties on used cars can vary from garage to garage.

I'd urge you to consider contacting the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission if you believe you're being treated unfairly and, if you do end up having to pay for work, consider asking a different garage for a quote for the work as well so you get a feel for what it should be.

Best of luck.
