Should I trade up to a new Fiesta?

Should I trade up to a new Fiesta?

Have a year old vw polo, cost 20,000 roughly with finance. Wanted to change to Ford Fiesta vignale cost 25,000 . Gave deposit of 5000 when buying polo. Would be giving 3000 deposit to keep payment under 400 a month for new fiesta. Paying 320 a month a present for vw polo, would go up to 390 for fiesta both over 4 years. Am I throwing good money after bad, would I be better to stick with polo till paid off.

Our answer:

Hi Teresa,

You’re definitely not throwing good money after bad, because both cars are some of the best superminis in the game. Ideally, you’d stick with the Polo for longer than you’ve had it and, as you outline, you’re going to be paying another €3,000 plus €70pcm extra for the Ford. But as long as you can afford it, why not trade up? The Ford is a fine car and very luxurious as a Vignale.
