Should I trade-in my Audi?

12 A6 SE Avant 120K kms. FASH etc. Doing less than 10k km yearly now. Like to change to hybrid or small engined family vehicle, high seating position (not necessary) & big boot Usual trips around town plus occasional long trip monthly. Suggestions..? Would small engined petrol also suit? Budget approx €5 to €10 with Audi. Not brand conscious. 3008 /Karo/Ionic/Prius. Worth trading up now, or waiting for improving hybrid range vehicles? Value of my car now is.? 10 diesel golf is our 2nd car. Tnx

Our answer:

Hi Brian,

Your Audi should be worth around €20,000 as a trade-in, so that should give you plenty of wriggle room, especially if you’re happy buying a year-old or nearly-new model. The Peugeot 3008 with the 1.2-litre PureTech petrol engine would certainly be a good choice; it’s lovely to drive and has decent economy, plus plenty of space. If you fancy a hybrid, the Prius is a really good choice (with genuine 60mpg in daily driving), but the C-HR crossover that uses the same basic hybrid system is more fun to drive (albeit the boot is quite small). Another good option is the SEAT Ateca 1.4 TSI 150hp petrol, which has masses of space inside, is lovely to drive and quite economical.
