Should I stick with a Renault?

Should I stick with a Renault?

Hi, I hope you can help me... I am looking at upgrading from a 11 Renault Fluence to either a Hyundai Tucson or the Renault Kadjar. I am reluctant about another Renault as I have issues with the gear box on the Fluence & I got no hop from the main dealer when I returned to them regarding the issue. On many an occasion I have been asked had I any issues with the electrics, thankfully no, so this is another reason for my reluctance in purchasing the Renault. Is this only a myth or is it something that I need to take into consideration? I would really appreciate any advise offered. Many thanks Margaret

Our answer:

Hi Margaret,

It’s not a myth, but it is perhaps neither entirely fair. Renault’s reliability has come a long way from the bad days of the early 2000s, but it would be fair to say that on average a Renault will have slightly more issues with its electronics than some other brands. If it’s painless reliability you seek, then the Tucson would certainly be a good choice, but it’s worth looking at the Toyota C-HR and Honda HR-V too.
