Should I sell my low mileage Golf?

Hi, I'm wondering what my 2004 Volkswagen Golf is worth. It's the 1.6 FSI model with 95k miles on the clock. Do you think I should sell it while there still is some value remaining?

Our answer:

Hi Barra,

I have to say that’s exceptionally low mileage for a Golf of that age. If the rest of the car is in the sort of good condition that suggests then you may just clear €5,500 on it. As to whether you should sell it or not, well it depends. Are you keen to? If not, and it’s in good shape and you like it, the value isn’t going to go down an awful lot more than that over the next few years. You’ll lose maybe another €1,000 to €1,500 if you want to hang on to it for a bit.
