Hi - I'm selling a VW 2003 and its been off the road for 3 months as I have a new car. Is it better to pay TAX up to date for a quicker sale. Car has NCT and in good shape.
Hi Geoff,
Having a few months tax on a vehicle is always a desirable selling point, right enough, but you will have to pay the arrears tax at some point, plus a penalty, unless you had properly declared the car as being off the road. I’d get it done before selling, as properly sorted paperwork always looks good to a prospective buyer.
