I have always rotated the tyres on my cars at around 5,000- to 8.000 miles. I now have a Range Rover Evoque and handbook says not to rotate the wheels. Is this because it has four-wheel drive ?
Hi Jeff,
Interesting one this, and I suspect that, originally, the issue was to do with the electronics controlling the four-wheel drive system – they like to know precisely which tyre is where because all that is factored into the computer’s decisions about which wheels have the most available grip and which can best handle the vehicle’s power. I say original, because we’ve been on to Land Rover about this and were told that "the wheels/tyres can be rotated on the Range Rover Evoque and Land Rover will release an update for owners in due course to reflect this information.” Hope that helps.
