
I have moved to Ireland with my 07 Toyota Auris 2.0 D 48 Miles 77 K. I think tax will be €710 a year if I change to Irish plates. As exchange rate poor not sure if I should hold on and pay tax- any Ideas

Well, you don’t really have any choice – once a car has been brought into the country you have a maximum of seven days to inform Revenue and book an inspection at your local NCT centre, and then 30 days to complete the inspection, pay the Vehicle Registration Tax and fit the new plates. Failure to do so means fines and a possible court appearance.
