currently commuting 160k a day for work, driving a 1.6 C5 diesel working out around 70 a week. really thinking of getting a hybrid would it be worth it on savings and which would are the best hybrids.
Hi Stephen,
If you’re doing 800km a week, then you’re definitely above the threshold at which diesel power makes more sense than anything else. Hybrids and plug-in hybrids are very good, but to get their best economy returns, you typically need to be an urban or semi-urban driver; long-distance motoring is not a hybrid’s forte. By all means, look at the current Toyota Prius or Hyundai Ioniq (which comes in both Hybrid and Plug-in Hybrid variants), or even consider something like a Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV, but we suspect a good, mid-power diesel would be better suited to your needs at the moment.
