Should a DPF be under warranty?

Should a DPF be under warranty?

Hi I bought a bmw 5 series from a car dealer less than 3 months we are having trouble with the dpf but we were told by the dealer that this was not under warranty, is this correct. Thank you.

Our answer:

Hi Gerard,

You’ll have to read the (literal) fine print of the warranty agreement. Generally speaking I would have thought that an item such as the DPF would have been covered, but most warranties do feature exclusions, so you’ll need to check.
