Should a dealer check for outstanding recalls before selling a car on??
Hi Martina,
There's no legal requirement for a dealer to check if a car has had all its recall work done. Bear in mind that most recalls are over small things that are not safety related. Before buying a car, it's a good idea to check for yourself if a car is due work via a recall and then ask the seller to make sure it is done before you pay a deposit, but again, they may refuse.
