Is a hyundai warranty transferable from the UK to Ireland? If a car was originally bought in Ireland is the warranty transferable to the new owner?
Hi Neil,
We weren't 100 per cent sure which way around you were looking at this, so we devised three scenarios and asked Hyundai Ireland for an answer on each. See below the questions and answers.
1 - Is the warranty on an Irish-bought Hyundai transferrable to its next owner?
Yes, all new Hyundai vehicles* purchased in Ireland include a five-year unlimited mileage warranty
(*Except taxis and PSVs, which get a three-year or 100,000km warranty, whichever comes first)
2 - If someone imports a second-hand Hyundai from the UK, does the warranty come with it in full and will it be honoured by Hyundai dealers in Ireland?
Yes warranty work is honoured in full on UK imports, however this work is subject to Hyundai UK’s terms of warranty, which contain some differences to that of Hyundai Ireland. You can view the details at https://www.hyundai.co.uk/misc-pages/5_year_warranty
3 - In the second scenario, if the buyer then sells their car, will the warranty also be transferred to the new owner?
Yes, but as above Hyundai UK’s terms and conditions apply.
Hopefully that helps answer your query
