Does skoda rapid 1.2 petrol. Timing belt or chain, If chain does it need be changed if so what miles approx, How often need service ie oil and filter be changed. Thanks Brian

Hi Brian,
You've not told us what year, as that makes a big difference, certainly to the turbocharged 1.2 TSI engine. In 2015, a new engine was introduced with a timing belt (needs checking at 240,000km). Before that it used a timing chain. The non-turbo 1.2 used a timing chain throughout. In all cases, the chain was designed for the life of the engine and does not have a replacement schedule.
All versions require an oil service at least every year or 15,000km, whichever comes first.
