Service light won't go out on my GTI...

Hi there! I recently bought a GTI MK5 in mid October 2019 to be exact. I'm based in Lesotho so it's an import model from Japan. On arrival it already had 'Service Now' on the cluster. I did a minor service on the car on the second day in my possession and subsequently cleared the notification. A month later the 'Service Now' notification appeared again-I assumed I must change the DSG oil. Did buy the OEM gearbox oil at Volkswagen Bethlehem and changed. Again cleared the notification after the DSG oil change, however to my disbelief the notification came up again, what could be the cause now?. The car performance is tops.

Our answer:

Hi Seth,

If that light is activated by an oil quality sensor then perhaps the sensor itself is at fault. Best to get the car along to a good mechanic to have it looked at.
