They're basically the same car, mechanically speaking, so will have similar reliability, performance, economy etc. depending on the model you're looking at. The choice comes down then to styling (which arguably favours the Volkswagen) and price (which most definitely favours the Areca). On balance, we'd probably go for the SEAT.
