Scrappage won’t be possible with that car. Most manufacturers offer scrappage deals when you bring in an older, more polluting vehicle, which they typically deem anything to be Euro 1-4 emissions rated. That means anything built before September 1, 2009. Your Jazz is most likely Euro 5, so a) won’t qualify for the scrappage schemes some manufacturers offer on environmental grounds and b) is worth a heck of a lot more than the bonuses manufacturers would otherwise offer you as a trade-in for a ‘scrapper’. These are usually a few thousand Euro, up to a maximum of about €5,000, but your Honda is probably worth anything between €12,000 and €13,000. You’re therefore much better off trying to sell it privately, or getting a car dealer to take it in as part exchange on a new vehicle, whereupon you will most likely be offered €9,500 to €10,500 for it.
