Santa Fe or Qashqai+2?
Hi, We have 2 small children and are looking for a bigger car/SUV,ideally a 7 seater in case number 3 comes along in the next 2 years. Small budget < €20k but would be looking to upgrade car again in 4 years. Looking at Hyundai Santa Fe 2010-2011 vs Nissan Qashqai +2 Tekna 2010-2012.leather seats preferable. Which would you recommend or either? Thanks,Lisa

OK, if you don’t immediately need the extra space, then the Nissan is a good purchase, not least because it’s smaller and far more economical to run than the larger, bigger-engined Hyundai. Watch for blown turbos on the Nissan though, as it’s the major weak spot of the 1.5 dCi diesel engine. The Hyundai is more comfortable, more ‘premium’ if that matters to you, and roomier inside (which would make it the better car if baby No.3 comes along), but I think the Nissan’s more affordable running costs win the day for now.
