There's no definitive answer to that one, I'm afraid. It's a bit of an unknown. My opinion is that you should buy the car that suits your needs now. There's still a long time to go before the mooted ban on new petrol and diesel car sales in Ireland (2030) and even that is not set in stone. Even then, given that the average age of a car in Ireland is about nine years old, it'll be a long time before the used market gives up on petrol and diesel completely.
