We’d be tempted to push you towards the Volvo, as it has a terrific combination of comfort, reliability, space and safety when you’re carrying the kids. Plus they’re very cheap to buy second hand. Just make sure you buy with a full service history. The Audi is a good choice too, but not as roomy in the back as the Volvo. The Lexus would win on reliability, but as you point out, they’re really surprisingly small in the back, so not the best choice for the kids.
