Road Tax on 2015 BMW x5 2.0L?
Hi Amy,
The only conventional Mk3 X5 that had a 2.0-litre engine was the 25d, which came in either two- (sDrive) or four-wheel-drive (xDrive) formats. As the sDrive25d, it emitted 149g/km of CO2 and as the xDrive25d, that figure rose to 156g/km. That does make a difference to road tax – the sDrive25d is in Band C, resulting in €390 per year of tax, while the xDrive25d moves into Band D, at €570 per annum.
We said ‘conventional X5’ at the outset, though, because the plug-in hybrid petrol-electric X5 – badged as the xDrive40e iPerformance – had a 2.0-litre petrol engine and emitted just 77g/km of CO2, resulting in road tax of just €170 per annum (Band A1).
