Looking at a 2017 Merc E220D for just under EUR 25,0000 but has 118,000Km on the clock with 1 previous owner. I have the C Class and had to replace the timing chain at 140,000KM. Does the E220D have a single or double timing chain and at what point will it require changing? Or would I be better off spending a few grand more to get one with lower mileage? Many thanks
Hi Aidan,
It's a single chain in that E-Class, but also, it's the newer 2.0-litre diesel engine, which I don't believe would have been in your C-Class. That isn't high mileage at all for such a car.
