Hi Shane. I am driving a long time but have a query around tyre pressures. I own a 2018 mk7.5 VW Golf and had it serviced 5 weeks ago. I’d been driving for approx 15 kms and checked the tyres and all 4 were 37 kps which is about 2.6 bar. The sticker insides the drivers side door states 2.0 bar when cold and then it also states 2.3 which I reckoned was referring when the tyres were hot. As a result of checking the tyres I let a lot of air out (dropping them from 2.6 to 2.3). The reason I did this was that I reckoned the garage had the tyres too high or MAYBE I’ve got it wrong? Thoughts?
Hi Neil,
The sticker showing tyre pressures doesn't usually show cold and warm pressures, instead showing figures for front and back and for different loadings in the car. However, either way it does indeed sound like the garage overinflated the tyres.
Send us on the engine type and the size of the tyres fitted and we can look up the correct pressures for you if you want.
