Yes, a Qashqai 1.5 will be significantly more thirsty than a Yaris - you only have to compare the weight of the two cars to know that. The Qashqai will probably average around 45mpg overall whereas a carefully driven Yaris could get closer to 55mpg, even 60mpg on a good day.
