It might seem like the obvious answer, but the Polo will be the more reliable car. This is not to say that all Peugeots are unreliable or that all Volkswagens are 100 per cent trustworthy, but in general the German brand has a better reliability record than the French marque, even if Peugeot is making huge strides in terms of its build quality and longevity. The Polo in question is also slightly lower mileage and has the sweeter engine of the two.
