The 1960 Impala came with either a 283- or 348ci V8 engine, with either 170- or 230hp in the smaller size and 250- to 320hp from the larger unit; a special triple-carbed 348 could churn out 350hp. Top speeds were therefore anything between 150- and 209km/h, depending on the gearing of the model in question.
