Well, you don’t want to be paying anything more than €4,250 for it, and you need to ensure its history is as spotless as can be with that mileage on it. Preferably, you’d also want to see some sort of turbo replacement work (assuming it’s a diesel) on in within the last 50,000km or so. Check for excessive blue or white smoke during cold start-up and/or hard acceleration, either of which will suggest the turbo could be on its way out – and it would be uneconomical to repair it again on a 508 of that age.
