Well, we can definitively answer the second part of your question: the SEAI grant for buying hybrids and EVs is only available on new cars, not used vehicles. As to ‘what is the best hybrid?’, how long is a piece of string? What do you need from it? Space? Mileage? A high seating position? How many kilometres do you do per annum? Do you live in an urban area and you’re a commuter, or are you someone who does long distances on a regular, even daily, basis?
