Ok to use a Canadian child seat?

Hi, We are moving abck from canada to Ireland with a 2 year old-14 kg, 90 cm. In Canada, he currently uses a car seat which meets all Canadian regulations and has an ISOFIX. Is it legal for us to use this car seat when we move back to Ireland? Would our insurance cover an accident with this type of car seat? I appreciate your help, Thanks, Sinead

Our answer:

Hi Sinead,

You are fine to use it – two-piece ISOFIX seats for young infants support children up to 18kg and are widely used in Ireland, so you will be covered for insurance.
