No compression in my Clio...

I have a clio 4 with 0.9 engine. There is no compression on any of the cylinders. Can this be caused by the vvt solenoid being faulty?

Our answer:

Hi Danny,

I really don't think so, as the VVT operates on the whole camshaft, not individual cylinder valves. Even if the solenoid is faulty, you'd expect some of the valves to close some of the time. Could the valves be bent and not closing, perhaps?
