Thanks so much for the last answer Shane. I’ll be towing boats on a trailer upto 3500kg so I was looking at a Toyota Land Cruiser 2.7l but generally a 2.0l will do for most of my needs. Budget wise I’d like to go around 25000€ so there’s a bit of choice there.
Hi Alex,
For that budget, you could afford any number of Toyota Hilux models, between 2013 and 2018. The latter for that budget use the 2.4-litre engine, which will cost less to tax privately than the 3.0-litre versions, but they don't have the towing capacity you need. In fact, not all versions of the Hilux can tow 3,500kg, so you'll need to double-check the specs of any model you're looking at.
If you're not set on a Toyota, the Ford Ranger might be a good option. Some versions, even with 2.0-litre or 2.2-litre engines, are rated to tow up to 3,500kg with a braked trailer. Again, not all of them are, so double-check the specs, but the annual motor tax would be a lot less on these engines.
