That's a tricky one to diagnose from afar. It sounds as if either an electrical component is overheating and malfunctioning (such as another sensor), or a temperature sensor is faulty and giving the engine's computer a false reading, making it shut itself down for protection. 

The best thing to do is bring the car to an experienced mechanic or auto electrician. With no error codes to work with it may be a case of trial and error to discover the faulty part.
