My Land Cruiser is rattling...

I’m noticing this strange rattling sound in my Toyota land cruiser 2008. It’s completely smooth once I start the car but this sound comes back when I start driving or park my car back. What could it be? Manifold gasket is not leaked. I have I checked.

Our answer:

Hi Faraz,

It's very difficult to assess such things remotely. However, we do know that generation of Land Cruiser can develop a metallic noise due to dirt being trapped in the clutch pressure plate. If that's what it is, the only way to clear it is to remove the assembly, which is obviously a huge amount of work.

Best to bring the car to a good mechanic to confirm what the source of the noise is. It might be something as innocuous as a loose heat shield.
