Your annual mileage means you may be better off with a diesel, and because it’s a 2015-on car you’re after then you will be fine to do this, as these should all be Euro 6-compliant vehicles. Your mention of space (five adults) immediately directs us to one of our favourite marques on a space/quality value-for-money basis, Skoda. You should be able to get a decent, early Mk3 Superb for your budget, which would be our first choice; alternatively, you could look at one of the last-of-the-line Yeti models as an excellent back-up option, though the Superb is way more spacious.
