I have to say I’m surprised by that – I’m also a bad back sufferer (sciatica too) and I find the Optima hugely comfy and relaxing to drive. I’m not sure that the Audi or BMW would do you any better really, as it’s quite possible that this is a height thing and not a specific seat thing. Have you thought about switching to a taller car; an MPV or SUV? The two I’d recommend are a Ford S-Max (Ford has always made really good, supportive seats) or a Volvo XC90 (no-one maker better seats than Volvo).
