Motor tax on the Ford Ranger?

How much is the tax on the ford ranger 2.7 litre diesel

Our answer:

Hi Siobhan,

We’re pretty sure the Ford Ranger never used the 2.7-litre V6 TDCi, codenamed ‘Lion’, because that was an engine that Ford built for Jaguar. Instead, the Ranger employed the ‘Puma’ TDCi, which was a 3.2-litre five-cylinder unit; there was an older Ranger with a 3.0-litre four-cylinder motor built by Mazda, too. Either way, a quirk in our road tax laws means that, if the Ranger is registered as a commercial vehicle, then you’ll pay a flat €333 for it; if it’s privately registered, though, it goes on engine capacity and not CO2. For the 3.0-litre engine, its 2,956cc results in €1,494 every year, while the 3.2-litre five-cylinder turbodiesel incurs the highest cost of €1,809.
