If I'm looking to bring in a commercial car from the uk. For example an a4/3 series/golf would I pay lower vrt then vrt'ing a normal car with back seat's?

If the vehicle is classed as a commercial vehicle and will be registered as such in Ireland then yes, you should pay the flat-rate commercial vehicle VRT on importation.
