Well we can’t pick one or more dealers over any others, but what we can say is that it’s always a good idea to buy from a SIMI-registered dealer (Society of the Irish Motor Industry) as they sign up to a code of ethics and customer care that gives you at least some peace of mind if there are any issues with the car after you buy it. Of course, buying a 2016 or 2017 Golf, it will still be under warranty so you shouldn’t expect to have any issues for at least the first year or two.

As for the cost, the mid-market price for a 2016-2017 Golf is going to be around the €17-8,000 mark, depending on the spec and model. Insurance we simply can’t predict — Irish insurers load the driver more than they do the car, so I’m afraid it’s a matter of shopping around for the best price you can get.
