Looking to buy a 4 Series...
Hi, I have been planning since the beginning of the year to change my car. When Covid struck, plans changed and I settled on waiting to next year. However I now want to change again. I've always wanted a BMW 4 series(2door preferably). How new could I expect to move to and is there any issues to lookout for in certain years? Budget will hopefully be up to €20k between saving and a loan. I also have my own car which can be sold/traded in. I currently drive a 2010 Opel Astra Sri(1.7d) with 205,000km on the clock. Car runs perfect but there are some scratches here and there. Any advice would be great, or even if you have alternative suggestions?

Well, firstly, your Astra is worth about €4,000 to €5,000 on the open market, so trade-in values will be low – something like €1,500-€3,000, maybe. And if you’ve always liked the BMW 4 Series Coupe, why look at anything else? You can get very tidy 420d M Sport Coupes for €17,000 to €18,000, without having to accept well in excess of 100,000km, so go and try the BMW out.
