Looking to buy a 2011 Jetta or Passat.

Looking to buy a vw passat or jetta 1.6 d around 2011 in year was just wondering what I should pay was hoping for something under 150k they are all priced between 7-10k I think this is a bit much but obviously some have higher specs and also have service history also would service history from a vw dealer not be a lot More reliable that just from a service station

Our answer:

Hi Dylan,

Yes, around €7,000 to €10,000 seems to be the going rate for a Jetta or Passat of that age and mileage, with a 1.6-litre diesel engine, so we can’t help you on that one, we’re afraid. In terms of what you’re after, you want a Comfortline or Highline if you can find them, as these were the upper two trim lines; Trendline is base spec. There’s nothing to say that a main dealer service history is any better than one that’s been completed at an independent servicing garage, but some people do prefer the mental comfort blanket of seeing manufacturer stamps in the logbook.
