Looking for small economical car.

Looking for small economical car.

Help! I’m looking to buy a small ecconomial car and I haven’t got a clue.I have a budget of €8000. I generally use it to drive in to work in the city. The last car I had was a 00 micra. Should I be looking at the age, mileage or guarantee that the garage is offering when looking at a car? So far I’ve been looking at Ford Fiesta, seat Ibiza, Nissan Micra and Skoda Fabia. I just don’t know what is the best model or year to buy

Our answer:

Hi Mary,

The cars you’ve listed are fine, but we’re going to recommend something slightly smaller – try a 2016 Hyundai i10. They can be found for €8,000 and are lovely things to drive, with great refinement and economical engines. Being physically smaller, it’s easier to use in the city and, if you do manage to get a 2016 model, you will have some of the original five-year manufacturer warranty still in effect, until 2021; giving you extra peace of mind.
