Your Mercedes should be worth between €15,000 and €16,000 on the used market, around €11,500-€13,000 as a trade-in. Given the mileage you’ve done in your A 180 since 2014, you might be better off with a petrol car this time around, with an automatic gearbox. You could try the Skoda Octavia TSI DSG, the Volkswagen Polo TSI DSG or the Volkswagen Golf TSI DSG, but if you feel these brands are a step down from your Mercedes, then it’s an Audi A3, BMW 1 Series or a newer Mercedes A-Class you’ll be after. All are readily available on 171, 172, 181 and 182 plates, with auto gearboxes, from about €22,000.
