We have a favourite city car and you should be able to find a plentiful supply of them on the used market – it’s the Hyundai i10 Mk2, which starts on a 141-plate for about €8,000. Choose from either a 1.0-litre or 1.2-litre version, because they’re both excellent, reliable and cheap to insure. If you can’t afford the Mk2, then the older, cheaper Mk1 would be a fine alternative.
