Have you thought of a Volvo? The old-shape S80 and V70 can usually fit three child car seats in the back (depends on the seats and the kids, of course) and they’re both impressively reliable, comfortable and of course amongst the safest cars on the road. The Volvo XC90 is also a good choice, and the older versions are temptingly cheap now. Or you could try a current-shape Kia Sorento, which has masses of space inside and is one of our favourite 4x4s.
