Fear not, because if it’s ultimate reliability you’re after then simply head to your nearest Honda or Toyota dealer. There’s an all-new Honda Civic coming very soon, so that means there are some good deals on the outgoing model and it’s a cracking car – good to drive, very spacious and hugely reliable. If you don’t like the Civic, then try either a Toyota Corolla or Auris. Not the most exciting cars ever made, but comfortable, practical and enormously reliable. Pick of the bunch is the Auris with the new 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine.
