Looking for a reliable car for about €5,000.
Looking for a reliable car for about €5,000. I will be doing for work roughly 70km a day. And once a month a drive from Killarney to Dublin. So additional 600km. So total is at least 1400km per month. What cars should I search for within this range? What cars would be cheap money wise for driving? I was thinking so far of Toyota Avensis, Honda Jazz/Fit and Toyota Corolla. Is there any other car which I should search for?

Hi Jim,
I'd say the Corolla could be your best bet. Not the most exciting car, certainly, but it'll be cheaper to run than the Avensis and a little more refined and comfortable on longer journeys than the Jazz. Try and track one down with the excellent 1.33-litre petrol engine and you'll get near diesel-like economy on the longer runs.
