Looking for a new-ish petrol BMW.
Have been trying to source a used latest model X1 petrol but to no avail. Have any of them been sold in Ireland? I know they are available new but out of reach. Can u enlighten me please. 3 series BMW 1.5 Petrol v Merc 1.6 Petrol circa late 2016 to 2017? Read many conflicting reviews though many related to higher powered or diesel which I don't want. Would be grateful for your advice

BMW definitely sells the 2016-onwards X1 in Ireland with petrol engines, in the form of the sDrive18i (140hp) and sDrive/xDrive20i (192hp) formats. A cursory search shows a few low-mileage 18i models up for sale, for between €39,995 and about €43,000. And if you’re looking at BMWs with the 1.5-litre three-cylinder petrol engine versus Mercedes models with the 1.6-litre four-cylinder petrol unit, then we’d definitely advocate the former. Not that it’s a bad unit per se, but the Mercedes 1.6 is actually sourced from the Renault-Nissan Alliance, whereas BMW’s 1.5 is an in-house development. We prefer it.
