Looking for a high-spec auto hatch.
i'm looking for a hatchback, automatic, car with all the new features eg climate control, hillside assist, automatic lights and wipers etc... which would you recommend

There's a wealth of choice out there. First among equals would be the updated Volkswagen Golf with the new 1.0-litre petrol engine (both smooth and frugal) and the DSG automatic gearbox. Go for Highline spec and have a peruse of the options list and you should get all the features you need. Also worth looking at the Opel Astra, new Honda Civic, or the SEAT Leon.
