Looking for a good family car but cheaper!
Hi Jenny,
OK, you haven’t specified cheaper than what, exactly, but I’m guessing that you’re looking for something that’s cheaper to buy and cheaper to run than average. When people ask me for a good cheap car recommendation (although actually 'better value' is a nicer way to put it) I usually look to Korea and the Kia cee’d. If you’ve got a family, and don’t need seven seats or anything like that, then the Kia cee’d SW estate is a very hard car to beat. They’ve been around through two model generations now, so there are cee’d SWs at pretty much any price point you care to pick, from nearly new ex-demo stock down to around €6k for a 2008 model. The 1.6 diesel version is frugal and you can tax if for just €270 a year, and if you buy one from 2009 onwards there will be at least a little bit of Kia’s original factory warranty left to run.
Hope that helps.
