Hi Tony,

The Alfa Romeo Giulia fits the bill in terms of budget, body style and being (really) fun to drive. There aren't loads on the used market, but they are within budget. 

Another option is the Honda Civic - the one that has just been replaced. It's nowhere near as spacious as your Skoda, but it's a lovely car, spacious by any other measurement and sweet to drive.

Either of Jaguar's saloons would fit the bill - the XE or the larger XF.

Likewise, there are several options in the Mercedes line-up, such as the C-Class and CLS.
