Looking at car for 20-year old...
Hi there I'm thinking of buying a car for my 20 year old daughter. She has full licence with 4 months, just wanted some advice on car recommendations for travelling an hour a day to college 5 days a week. That's half hour to get there and same home. Then small bit of driving some evenings. Is there a particular car that's economical but road worthy, is there a certain c.f. in a car that some insurance companies won't insure that you are aware of? Budget 1500 to 2000 at very most. For that budget, you’ve got a wide array of choice – provided you’re happy with cars of the 2006-2008 vintage, with 100,000km and more on the clock. Things like the Opel Astra, Ford Focus, Peugeots 206 and 207, Citroen C4, Skoda Octavia, Nissan Almera and more are all within range, as are higher-mileage examples of luxury vehicles like the MINI or Audi A3. All of them come with modest engines for this sort of money, making them easy to insure and relatively economical too.
